Having been in law enforcement for more than twenty years I must say I am in favor of the death penalty. I'm sure this surprises no one who reads this post. Having seen man's inhumanity to man more often than I care to share I can honestly in my heart say their are some who should not walk this planet. Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer etc. to name a few. I do however feel the D.P. is handed out far too often. In this day in age, DNA evidence should be present to send anyone to death row. For those who feel life imprisonment is just as effective in ending victimization you are sadly mistaken. Bad things happen in prison. Rape, murder, assault and so on. Violent felons find victims in prison as well. Does my heart bleed for them, no, not really. But for those bleeding hearts who feel a life sentence keeps everyone safe your wrong. I recently put away a 19 year old heroin addict for 10 years for a series of armed robberies he committed while high on drugs. He deserved the punishment he was given. He won't deserve what happens to him in jail. This kid will be a silent victim for a long, long time. Even those who are sentenced to life will still seek and find prey.

No. I think the death penalty is totally bogus. Yes, i am a religious person and that does effect my side on this subject but honestly, the death penatly does nothing. If you choose to use the death penatly on someone like Hussien, then u are bascially letting him off the hook because he will feel very little to no pain as a punishment when all his victoms had to suffer. Personally i would rather have him rot in jail and serve his time in what i would like to call a living hell, rather than him simply be hung and not have any real punishment at all. He was an older man and would of died soon enough, but no, we choose to kill him now and not put him through the misery i perosnally think he deserves.

I am FOR the death penalty. I deal day in and out with victims of horrible crimes and watch the families have to deal with their losses. I feel that the public sometimes lives in a little bubble since they are protected so much from the truth of what actually has happened to these rape/murder victims. I am sick of supporting these jerks on death row for 15 years or life in prison at the taxpayers expense. They do not rehabilitate from those types of crimes. I could go on forever about this. Lethal injection cruel and unusual? Give me a break. Raping, stabbing, shooting, maiming, setting people on fire ect.. is cruel and unusual. These people need to be gone!

Personally, I'm against it. Don't get me wrong-many of the criminals on death row are scum of the earth and deserve to die. But if we kill them, are we any better than them? Sure, we're punishing them, but at the same time we are stooping down to their level. Let them rot in jail. Maybe they could force them to work jobs that will be productive to society (without leaving prison, of course)

I'm not for the death penalty.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

What if the convicted person really wasn't guilty?

All life is precious, and is not ours to take away.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Depends on the circumstances to me. People that are proven to be nothing but menaces to the society such as serial killers, yes.
