Most birds refrain from farting while flying, it is considered very impoilte, and a disservice to birds flyng behind them. Now, dropping a fresh load on a human is okay for some reason.

Birds can't fart. Hence the mean old trick if feeding them alkaseltzer and their tummies explode. They can't release any gas that builds up.

Birds don't fart since they have a cloaca which is a combination of bladder and colon.

They can't fart period. Feed 'em an Alka-Seltzer & see what happens.
UPDATE: I should look things up before I comment on them. The Alka-Seltzer thing is a MYTH!! Go figure!! Birds DO fart.

There have been numerous studies on this. It's similar to when you're running and try to fart. You may have to briefly alter your stride and push, but it can be done.
Now certainly, if they can crap on you while they fly, they can fart as well, no?
