The first time I cooked I was 10 years old and I cooked Vegetable Fritters for my families lunch, sort of like a pancake with Vegetables, example, Potato Pancakes. My first ones had zucchini and they were delicious. That summer I cooked all kinds of Fritters and they still are one of my favorite recipes to cook and eat and they make delicious appetizers.

The first thing I cooked on my own was French Toast. And I did not know that you needed to put some sort of fat in the pan and they stuck really, really bad. My family still ate them thou!

I was very young in an Italian household.
My aunt cut the onions, she put the olive oil in the pan, and I put the sliced onions in and she regulated the stove heat (gas stove - too much for a young child).
I've been cooking ever since. And it's amazing, as I now put fried onions in almost everything!
GOD bless us one and all, always!

It was butter noodles. I put them in a bowl to microwave, but I didn't put no water in it. The bowl was a fancy wooden bowl (I don't remember where we had gotten it) and I lit the thing on fire, lol. My dad came in and smelled smoke. He asked me what I had done and all I said was "um, nothing".

Gravy for Thanksgiving dinner. And no, I don't mean out of a jar or an envelope. ;) It came out perfect...no lumps, beautiful color. It started a life long passion and probably explains why I'm fearless in the kitchen.

Mac & cheese and hot dogs.....when i was 11 y/o my dad had passed away so my mom had to work a lot of extra. since i am the oldest of 3 girls my mom relied on me to have their dinner ready and it was always the easiest thing to make. its funny now that 20 years later my sisters & i still have this on occasion for dinner & it brings back lots of memories of our childhood!

I think when I was about 11 I made my parents a pot roast. (With a little help from my mom.) I was so proud of that because I found the recipe myself and asked my mom if I could make it.
