Do you think that it scares men or makes them feel un-needed in a relationship when they see how independant a single mother is with her child? I have met numerous great guys, but when it comes to the time to have them over and my daughter s around, it almost seems as though it scares them away. I have never brought up them being my daughter's dad. She already has one. What gives?

It's got nothing to do with your independence.

A guy who sees that you have a kid naturally draws the line from him to your kid (right or wrong, it doesn't matter). There is a lot of responsibility there and I think they understand that you are not in it just for fun. Basically, it's a whole different level when a child is involved. You have to find the right guy who understands and can deal with that.

It may be that the guys you were dating just were not ready for kids. It's not the sight of an independent mother that scares them away. It might help if you look for a guy who is a bit older, and ready for kids, and a family, or maybe a divorced man who has kids of his own. Good luck, and happy dating.

Not that your girls is bad cause we all hope not. It is the child that cares them off. Good that you are a good mom but the extra work involved with the child is just hard to deal with. I want to but you need to do ? for your daughter. You will find one soon enough. My wife had two kids.

Maybe they want some alone time with you or maybe they should get to know your daughter too and that way everyone can do things together and no one will feel left out or stepped over. Mayber you just haven't found the right one yet.

well if haven't told them, that u already have a child, and they go to your house and suddenly see u as a mom, it may get people snappy[not just men but women too], because now it goes into their head that they have to be a parent not just a lover[even if u tell them that's not the case]...so next time tell the guys you're a mom early into the conversation, ...

Sounds like you are dealing with immature boys. Find a real man. Mabey one that also has a child. We tend to understand a little better than single playboys.
