My boyfriend has told me that either we have a physical relationship or he is going!
We met in a church and we left to pursue our relationship. I decided that we should follow another religion and now he accuses me of corrupting him - because he's younger than me and I was his first.

I told him that he should learn a bit of self control and that it is possible. I'm sure there are loads of couples who have celibate relationships

Edit - I was my boyfriend's first. Maybe now I've given him the "taste" he won't want to stop. I think he will be leaving...

Yes it's possible. However, your relationship doesn't sound terribly romantic. He sounds like a manipulative jerk...
then again, so do you. YOU decided that YOU and HE should follow another religion? WTF?
You should break up immediately for both of your sakes.

It is possible to have a firm relationship but not a romantic one. Romance involves sexual appeal a celibate or platonic relationship does not. He is a normal male who wants a physical relationship with his girlfriend if you do not feel the same then he is not for you. There are people who have celibate relationships but they are just friends not in a romantic relationship. You say you are older than him, I do not know how old that is but if you are of mature age and do not like the thought of having a sexual relationship then I think you should be questioning yourself rather than anyone else.

Ah hun I know its a bummer when you think you found Mr. Right and he couldn't be more wrong. To be honest it sounds like he used you to cut lose from the church that maybe he felt was suffocating him. As a result if it all goes wrong he can go back because, well, you corrupted him and they'll undoubtedly buy his lame tale of forbidden lust and remorse (Whateva!)
Your decision to follow another religion shows that you still have your faith and want to worship. Don't change your religion go a mile outta town and find a new church. Remember The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, well Edmund got a taste of something and it became his downfall cos he got greedy. Leave him to his own devices and watch him ruin himself.

That is the way it is suppose to be (celibacy), and while it is challenging it is also very rewarding. Your boyfriend sounds more in love with the idea of having you in bed instead of having you in his life. Why would you leave church to pursue your relationship though? You should want God in your relationship, because it is only HIM that will help you resist that temptation. Remember sweetheart, good things come to those who wait. I know most people don't practice celibacy, but most people don't have fulfilling relationships neither. My boyfriend and I have had intercourse, but we have decided to put it on hold since then and we're closer than ever!!

First, people were never meant to have romantic relationships that are anything other than Marriage. Romance is for marriage, and that's all.

Secondly, what you've done HAS corrupted him, in more ways than one. You've taken his purity. In so doing, you put him at odds with his God. Now, all he has is you because his sin has separated him from God. If you care for him at all, you'll dump him so he'll have some chance of getting his own life back on track.

As for you, you had already decided to follow another religion. You worshiped yourself because you thought you were better than God's rules. Now that you're unsatisfied in THAT religion, you're trying something new.

Let me warn you that it doesn't matter WHICH religion you choose, it won't be built around your desires in life. You'll never be satisfied and never be happy until you submit yourself and give up your pride. It's the only way things can get better.

Bye, bye boyfriend. He needs to grow up a little. Him accusing you of corrupting him is stupid and a manipulation. If you want to be celibate and he doesn't, I would imagine it is a stand-off, yes? Looks like the relationship is over. Sorry. Hope it all works out for you like you hope.

There are loads of couples in a celibate relationship but they BOTH agree to have the relationship this way.

Let your boyf go if he doesn't respect your wishes. It doesn't matter how he thinks you currupted him because theres no point thinking about what he thinks and his perspective on things.

You stick to whatever it is you want to do and leave him to get on with his life.

Celibate relationships ARE possible between a man and a woman. I have been involved in just such a relationship for four years.

It's difficult to go from a sexual relationship to a celibate one, but if you're doing so for spiritual reasons then it is very important for you to stand by this and he will have to respect that or say good-bye, in my opinion. Good for you for knowing what is most important.

Seems to me you are shutting the gate after the horse has bolted. You've taken this poor youngsters cherry, got him gagging for you and now want to take it away. I think you might need to get some therapy to understand why you wish to be so controlling.
