if you tried every other possible way than this could be your last solution.

Downloading this software will recover much of the files/folders which has been deleted. The software is totally free and very easy to use as i have used it before.

Not all is lost. Unfortunately, Windows does not delete things in the way that they should be deleted, so they might still be lingering.
If your computer is still configured to make a restore point at a regular interval, then you're in luck; just use System Restore. If not, you can use Norton SystemWorks, directly from the CD, to try and recover the data.
The key thing to note here is that, if you don't have a restore point and you have added new items to your hard drive, then it is most likely that the deleted data got overwritten. Deleted files only remain as long as the space is not being used; as soon as it's needed, they are overwritten.
Oh, and remember... installing an undeleting utility also counts as putting something in that space, so you want to run whatever you utility you chose from somewhere other than the hard drive.

Gee Rossco, I hope they are still in the recycle bin. If not, you'll need a file undeleter such as the one comes with Norton Utilities. I'm sure there are other ones too that will search for deleted files.
As I recall, deleted files get the first letter of the filename changed, but the data should be still there. It's not too hard to recognize when the undeleter brings it up. The only problem is whether other data have been written onto the same portion of the disk where the deleted file was. Good Luck

You CAN get your files recovered UNLESS you didnt overwrite that segment in your hard drive.
Did you know where did you save your file?
* Make sure that dont save or copy anymore files into your drive.
Use Data Recovery tool to recover those files.
I use File Scavenger for this purpose. Its completely safe.
Once i recovered a music file which didnt work uniformly (no volume in some places) because i copied a film into my drive later on which might have overwritten parts of the deleted music file.
File Scavenger is downloadable as demo. Demo can recover only a particular size. But you can see your deleted file in the list.
Either buy the software OR
Seek help from data recovery professionals. they will have different softwares for this.

In windows XP, you can restore the system to any of the previous "restore points". By default this restore feature is on. Hence you should be able to go back to previous stable restore point. Run System Restore Wizard from "Help and Support Center". I have done this once when my computer was screwed with adware. I could successfuly restore it back to a safe state. But I am not sure if it restores ALL files OR only system files.

It is possible to get them back. Here is a page to start on http://www.aumha.org/a/recover.php
When Windows "deletes" files,it doesn't actually delete them but makes them unrecogniable to the OS. Put in "recover lost files" to Google for more options. Good luck!

Do a Search for Zero Assumption Recovery, You will be able to recover the deleted files as long as you have not defragged the comp after deleting them.

Could you not rei-nstall but keep the file system as it is. Dont let the setup format your drive. I`ve had to do it a few times and it worked out ok. As long as you dont change the drive. You might have to re install some progs but a small price to pay. I think..Remember to choose leave the file system alone.. Hope it might help.

If you've deleted them, they've gone unless they are still in the recycle bin.
