Unknown fighters get $2000 to fight and another $2000 if they win. TUF fighters get $5000 double if they win.
The contract for the TUF winners is basically $12000 for fights in the first year double if they win. $16000 in the cecond year then $24000 in the 3rd year. After that they must renegotiate a contract. Othewise they could go back to $5000 or less. The rest like Hughes, GSP and Liddell all get paid by negotiating. Some only get $4000 some get $200,000. Chcuk will probably make $225,000 for the fight Tito $100,000 who ever wins gets double their money so Chuck could walk away with close to $500,000.

Dave Meltzer, who's a credible source, has reported that the UFC main eventers get $1 each from every PPV buy on smaller shows and $2.50 each from every PPV buy on bigger shows. That would mean that Matt Hughes (if he got $2.50 from every PPV buy) would have ended up making about $1.75 million dollars plus his guarantee (which would probably have been $75,000 to show and a $75,000 win bonus) for his defence against BJ Penn at UFC 63. UFC 63 did in the region of 700,000 buys.
The last UFC pay scale as released to the commission....
Reported UFC 65 Payouts:
- Tim Sylvia $120,000
- Matt Hughes $75,000
- Georges St. Pierre $58,000
- Brandon Vera $40,000
- Frank Mir $30,000
- Joe Stevenson $24,000
- Nick Diaz $24,000
- Jeff Monson $13,000
- Jake O’Brien $12,000
- Alessio Sakara $10,000
- James Irvin $10,000
- Drew McFedries $8,000
- Dokonjonosuke Mishima $8,000
- Antoni Hardonk $6,000
- Sherman Pendergarst $4,000
- Hector Ramirez $3,000
- Josh Shockman $3,000
- Gleison Tibau $3,000
Dave Meltzer, and he is a credible source, said of these...
"Payoffs are correct for some prelim guys. Not even in the ballpark for main eventers and guys who had good fights.
UFC main eventers, depending upon their star power, get either $1 per buy or $2.50 per buy. The purse listed is just their guarantee.
Good system for them. If a show flops, they don't eat it like boxing. If a show does well, everyone does well.
Wonder where they got that idea from."
And...
"Hector Ramirez I know as a fact got $23,000
St. Pierre has already received between $350,000 and $500,000 and may get more once the buy rate comes in next month."
I think, GSP said in one of the French-Canadian newspapers that he also got given a Humvee.
The answer to the original question is that it's really hard to know exactly what everyone is making. There are a lot of people, not just the top guys, making lots more than what the figures released to the athletic commissions state.
