If the skin continues to grow, then it's probably a keloid. If you have a history of keloids or other people in your family have them, then it's probably a keloid. Avoid all future piercings and take out your ring. Go see a doctor (preferably a dermatologist) as there are injectable medications to stop them from growing larger.

For your piercing:

Take the sea salt and put it in a cup whose mouth is big enough to fit all the way around your belly button. Add warm water to the mix, and then hold the cup and LEAN your body over it so that the cup is completely covering the piercing and is pressed into your skin so that the water will not leak out. Then, lean back up WHILE STILL PRESSING TH GLASS TO YOUR BODY. lay on your back, holding the glass witht he water in it over your piercing and let the piercing soak in the water for a good ten minutes.

Then lean over the glass again to remove it.

kelloids are due to traumas to the skin. Its an overproduction of cells (skin) to seal the wound, and they usually appear in a protruding manner. They can be treated with steroids to reduce its size or removed with surgery, however, theres a high risk they might come back again. They are also sensitive to temperature. Some people skin have the capacity of reabsorbing kelloids as time goes on. They are not harmful in any way, and are considered more of a cosmetic issue. If you decide to remove them, make sure the surgeon specializes in this type of procedures.

The way to know if you have keloid skin is easy. When a wound heals, does it leave a whitish scar?? If its so you definitively have keloid and any wound will heal like that
