I have a large center window measuring 53" wide and two side windows measuring 26" each, for an overall width of 105". These are north facing windows and they become cold at night. I do not want to cover the entire window and lose my view or light. I hope someone will have a great idea for what type of window treatments would work best for me.

You could buy some of those light-weight gauze curtains for daylight, and for the night some pull shades would keep out some of the cold coming off the window pane.... and for the overall area, I'd get some nice drapes to the floor that can be pulled back to the sides of the windows ... so the middle window has drapes that pull to either side and the side windows ... one on left pulls back left and the reverse for the right one, it pulls back right ... that is three layers of covering ... it should work ...I'd make sure that the heavier drapes are lined; that gives more protection...

Over the top of the window, I would put a large swag. You can make one or buy one at a local craft store. They hang on the wall above the window. It is basically a floral piece with flowers and ribbon. It will make the window look a little smaller. Then I would put up sheer curtains to the floor and then thicker curtains, tied back.

several years ago I installed the generic brand of Levelor wooden blinds in my large windows. I went with the generic brand because they would cut the blinds to the exact size I needed right there in the store. We set them inside the window. Now I can open them to allow sunlight in or close them at night. I have really enjoyed having them and even added them to another large room I have with three windows in it. Although I did install apparatus to hang a curtain or valance of some kind I don't know that I want to do that. They look great and are very easy to take care of. Mine were purchased at Lowes.

They sell curtian rods for the very top of the window and you could add a curtian of your color that just laid over the rod kinda like a wrap around that did'nt hang down and then put another curtian under it to close at night or when it was cold and you'll have the light and still be able to see outside during the day.
