My toddler of 21 mths has a very bad gum infection along with a fever. I can understand about the fever cause all toddlers get fevers at some stage, but i was horrified when the doctor told me about the gum infection, because my child is always spotless and so is my house and she also uses her own toothbrush and toothpaste! So how did she get a gum infection?

She was probably chewing on a toy or sucking on a dirty finger. And cut her gum slightly with a dirty fingernail causing an infection. Sometimes the problem with being overclean with your child it tends to make them more succeptable to infections as their bodies arent used to fighting them.

I even have 2 young ones, the two with a mouthful of enamel, and characteristic in no way seen something like what you're describing. i understand each youngster is diverse, yet i'd nevertheless call and make an appointment with the physician. There would be some type of an infection, and you do no longer decide directly to forget approximately that! i wish your toddler feels extra constructive quickly!

Little ones are always putting things in their mouths!! Perhaps she was teething and bit into something ... The fever would probably relate to the infection. No matter how clean your home is etc, little ones do find the strangest items!! I wouldn't take it personally ... some children are more prone to infection than others and this time around your little one got it. I am sure your doctor has prescribed something for her ... so all should be okay soon!

It could be from alot. Not brushing enough, not brushing properly. Being a kid and shoving stuff in her mouth. No toddler is perfectly clean after all.

Only your doctor would really know.
