NYC! There isn't much to Hollywood except the walk of the stars and the sign...it's not what people think. In NYC --even during this cold time of year --- there is everything and people from every part of the world. Walking down FiFth Ave, you are with Vietnamese, British, Brazilian, Arab, Spanish, Columbia, Chinese, Japanese, Indian...you name it...it fascinates me. Plus, fabulous shopping, especially south of midtown, great neighborhoods and restaurants, some great outdoor stuff to do like Bryant Park, The Chelsea Piers for bowling, skateboarding and more, Central Park, museums that rival worldwide arts facilities. Additionally, you've got serious theatre, Broadway, comedy clubs, the ballet, the opera....need I go on!
Hollywood is a small part...and not that great of a part...of the greater community of Los Angeles.

Hollywood because the weather might be a little bit easier to handle than the new york blizzard if it suddenly drop on you bbbrrr ...lol..

Also you can see more things in Hollywood than New York like sidewalk of stars, The Chinese theater, eat at the famous Brown Derby maybe even see a rare sight a supermodel eating a single french fry..lol.. wow.
There Universal Studios Amusement Park
Movies locations
(Dream shopping) on Rodeo Drive
Swimming Pool in winter.. Yeah!!!

There's ssssssooo much that theres no compare to New York even as great as the city is.

I have been to both places but I had more fun in California.

New York City!

I live in Los Angeles, and Hollywood is not what any tourist expects! It's run-down. Filled with prostitutes and homosexuals (not that I have anything against them really). But it's a pretty ghetto area in L.A.

The real fancy areas in los angeles are in the 310 area--the Westside, like Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, etc.

nyc easily! hollywood is an overrated shithole, which is really a bunch of lame tourist traps like the wax museum, tour the stars' homes, walk of fame etc. and it's filled with phony, desparate losers who think they are stars, but are really junkies/prostitutes/assholes. they don't call it "hollyweird" here for nothing. i was so disappointed the 1st time i went to hollywood and felt disgusted and scared. there are a few nice nightclubs there, however. if you like to party, you may have a little fun there. just don't expect to meet any quality people or see anything worthwhile. i miss nyc and the great people/culture/vibe!

NYC. It's set up more for business and you see people the way they are. Hollywood is set up to be like a movie set for rich people. I'm sure there are things to do there for fun but it's too flashy.
