First of all I rather take a class to learn the fundamentals of Yoga moves. Once I become familiar, then a DVD is easier to follow. But if a class won't work for you, then I say a DVD where you can be instructed then later buy the book, it will be easier to follow & understand moves. Plus, the DVD is more motivating.

I would buy the dvd. I have Pilates dvd's and Pilates books, I find it hard to do a workout and have to constantly look in the book to make sure I'm doing it right, you can buy it as a reference I guess but it's easier to follow the dvd. Good luck and have fun.

If you could I would say both then you can really costomize your workout and if you can't get both get the dvd.... dvd's show you everything step by step and you can see it right in front of you as you do it.... with a book you have to read and try to probably follow diagrams (which are sometimes hard to follow)!!

First of all you must find out if you like yoga, and if you have really the thing for yoga then it is worth it.I bought myself a Pilate's book and CD and I can tell that I was so disappointed in it. That is not the exercises I like.Good luck.

The DVD. In case you don't understand the book the DVD will show you better. Actions speak louder than words!

DVD, without question. It's better to see the poses and sequence than to read it and try to figure it out. If you're like me, you'll get bored with the book and it will eventually collect dust on your bookshelf!
