I have a little girl who just turned 2. She is still in diapers. We recently moved from Texas to Georgia. She started getting a diaper rash. We havent changed any of her normal foods or drinks. She hasnt been introduced to anything out of the norm. Same soaps and everything. I have tried Dr. Smiths RashN'All (which always worked in the past).

And when that didnt worked I tried another very expensive OTC rash ointment. (cant remember the name of it)

I see no improvment. It doesnt look like normal diaper rash either. They are red bumps that have space between them. Some have white heads and some look like they are sores. It covers both of her little butt cheeks only, however I started see one or two of the red bumps on her back, side, stomach, and vagina.

It doesnt seem to bother her or effect her going to the bathroom. She doesnt act like it is painful or anything. She isnt running fever and she had her chickenpox shot.

Does it sound like its time for a trip to the pedi?

I always use the same diapers. Either the generic ones from the PX, Luvs, Or Pampers..... she had never had a problem with brands of diapers in the past.

If the only change has been the location, it would occur to me that perhaps the water was more alkaline where you used to live or maybe you were closer to an organic grower in your old location. You could try cutting out fruit and fruit juice (or really watering it down and stick with pear juice or white grape) and get as much organic veggies into her as you can to make her system less acidic for a couple days and see if it makes a difference. Of course, if it was acidity it would probably be noticably painful or uncomfortable.

If the chicken pox shot was recently, I would wonder about that too. I think it is certainly time for a call to the pediatrician. You might also want to check out www.parentcenter.com, www.maternity.com and www.WebMD.com while you are waiting for people to get back in town and in the office.

Peace!

I think I would first take her to the doctor and rule out anything else it could be since you haven't changed anything about what she is diapered in or eats. If the doctor says it isn't anything else, I'll tell you something that works well. Antiperspirant/deodorant works wonders. I use the baby powder type (dove or seceret) everytime I change my little one's diapers just as a protective barrier. They rarely ever get a rash.

Use corn starch. Just put it in the diaper and on her bottom. It works wonders. My little guy had one so bad it bleed and nothing worked. His skin is very sensitive. Good Luck

I always used Aquaphor, but I have not seen anything like that before on my daughter, take her to a pediatrician to see what it may be.

Maybe shes reacting to the new water. My friends daughter got a rash after she moved and her doctor said she was reacting to the water. Maybe that's it?

Definitely take her to the doctor. Could be a yeast or even a bacterial infection. Those would need meds to be cured!

I would bring her to the pediatrician and try to potty train her after the rash is gone.

i would recomend using "Butt past" (you can only get it online) that should get rid of it and if that don't work take her to your doctor ASAP
