First of all it depends on where you get it. There are sensitive spots. It also depends on your tolerance for pain. Its not that bad the pain only lasts for a little while than your body adapts to it.
If you really want to know how it feels just get one. No words can explain it. Just make sure it is something you like for the rest of your life.

Well I got a tattoo im 16 ha yeah young or whatever I dont really care now anyway back to your question tattoos yeah they do hurt... unless! you ask for this so called "special" cream which they apply and leave for about a hour which makes the area go numb then you hardly feel much atall apart from a rather uncomftable pulling sensation.. I suppose it also depends on where you have the tattoo I had mine on my chest but if you have it on a flace like your foot then it is obvious that it will hurt more (says the Random tatoosist to me trying to make convosation)

First, pick the spot you want to put your tat. Now get a safety pin. Deeply drag that pin across the spot you chose for 20-30 minutes (about the time it takes to get a small tat). Don't let anyone tell you tats don't hurt. But, if you carefully pick your design and placement, and carefully research your tattoo artist for the best in your area, all the pain is worth it. I have many hours of tats and hate the process but I love the finished product.

Every person's threshold for pain is different. I have 2 tattoos...the first is on my chest and it didn't hurt at all. The second is a huge spread on my lower back and I heard that it hurts more on the spine...but I beg to differ. It hurt more on the sides of my spine. The outline was kind of a deep sting but once he got to the part where he colored it in, the feeling was exhilarating!

it all depends on the area you get it.. I got my tat on the back of my leg and it did hurt some but not as bad as i thought it would and it was kinda enjoyable in ways but i do have a high tolerancy for pain also which did help.. I know with mine the closer they got to bone hurt more then other places and in the center of the back of my leg hurt a little more too but then thier was areas that didnt even hurt and kinda tickled when he was working on me and i had to fight to keep still becouse it tickled alot LOL..I will say the worst part of getting tattooed for me was not getting the tat but the healing process and the damn itching you get from your hair growing back in the area is the thing that killed me with my tat and when it was scaring up...

depends
a tattoo on the arm will hurt WAY less then one on the chest and back.
for a feel, poke a small needle in your skin where u wanna get a tattoo at a 45 degree angle, that is what it is like
if pain is major, when you go to get one, you ask for a special cream, that will somewhat numb the area.
they hurt, but, they r not unbearable

I have three tattoos and I felt different levels of pain with each of them. the first one i got was an anklet. it hurt but i was so excited and thought it was so beautiful that i didnt realize how much it hurt until later that night. the second one was not too bad. it was over fairly quickly. the last one hurt and brought tears my eyes. i think my tolerance for pain is lessening as i get older but i will get another one:)
