This country is supposedly proud of its "adoption" of assylum seekers and immigrants, the probem is that those who are proud of its record are unaffected by the day to day issues which arise from our open door policies.

Tony Blair and his cronies have chosen to ignore that simple fact that we are overstretched in this country already, and have consistantly underestimated those who want to live on "treasure island".

We have got to see sense and adopt sensible entry requirements, the ability to contribute to the ecconomy, care for their own family and most importantly an acceptance of our laws, in the knowledge that if found guilty of a criminall offence they will be re patriated immediately.

There are GENUINE assylum seekers and these can be accomodated but let's at least check they are that and not just criminals on the run. They can not however expect to receive beneficial treatment over existing UK residents and jump to the head of housing lists etc.

In the absence of change, our so called leaders are playing into the hands of extremists, on BOTH sides and my fear is that we will experience civil unrest and violence on a scale unknown to us. I am fortunate in that I could emigrate and leave the problems behind for the remaining years of my life but my children aren't and we are building major problems for the future unless we do something soon.

Well it wouldn't exactly happen, but what would happen is the UK would be really densly populated with a population of probably an extra 100 million so a total population of 160m. A lot of immagrants start in big cities London would probably be huge going into east anglia and swallowing cities like reading. It population would be like 25 million. Imagine the underground! The economy in the long term could probably strengthen. But as the people move in, there would be lots of homeless and people living in bad housing. A huge amount of developing would have to take place, which it's self would supply jobs.
I don't think our coulture would be lost, they would bring theres but that would make a nice mix. People would adapt in using ours and becoming British. The people would already speak English so would use it to communicate to each other so English would stay as the main language.

The government has agreed to take in people from the countries. I believe there will be serious problems with the Romanian Gypsy clans. That will lead to trouble between other ethnic groups. Blair has not got the bottle to stand up and say sorry EU we took most of the Polish and Africans coming to Europe you take the rest. We cannot afford as a nation to supply homes, social security and health service to any more immigrants. The wise government said 13,000 would come last time 600,000 turned up. I see 1 million from the new lot. Blair and his governments legacy will be the total sell out of what was once Great Britain. They have lost control not only of domestic policy but our borders as well. The one thing any government has a duty to look after. I feel very uncomfortable for the future.

Assuming that you mean literally absorb the entirety of the countries that you listed, there'd be a lot of seismic damage caused by the countries being sucked across Europe to the British Isles and we'd end up being one messy mass of land, squashing the remainder of Europe and possibly the Arctic Circle.

Next time you ask a question like that ask it properly, and I'll answer it properly.

The answer is that the Government has no idea of who or how many of other nations are here now.

Add that to they have no idea of who and how many are coming over.

Add that to the Civil Service doesn't give a chuff anyway, as long as they can pick up their pension.

Then the answer will be as always was, we will get by.

All I ask is that they don't bring their problems with them. And they come here to be part of us, and not force changes back to the problems they are used to.

More people living here means increased competition for the finite resources we have - that basically means less jobs less housing, more strain on the National Health Service, increased crime, poorer standard of living, overcrowding.

Because despite the fact that lefties want to fill this country with immigrants, we don't have the resources to support an inifinite number of people.

I for one wont give a damn, as soon as I retire i am taking my pension, selling my house and getting out of this lousy country. I am sick of paying huge taxes to keep other non contributors in food, housing and clothing. I will take my family with me as well as i firmly believe that the England that i have worked for for the last 50 years is doomed. Like a rat, i will desert a sinking ship.
