You can also have what is called "White Coat Syndrome" that means that as soo as you go to a doctor or dentist etc, your pressure goes up, 148/92 is high, the 92 part is anyway! Naturally, u sound like ur on the rite track, dont eat salt, drink lots of water, fruit and veg. Dont forget alot of times its heredity as well, stress as well, dont worry about things and try some breathing exercises, just google it and you will find plenty, but really you should go to your doctor and try one of those 24 hour monitors you strap on and see what that says, if it is still high you should really go on blood pressure pills, its for ur own saftey. How's your cholesterol? if thats high so is ur blood pressure usually, I had to go on cholesterol pills, I take one a day, "Lipitor" and mine has dropped to below normal, my blood pressure also has come down, I walk everyday but basically still live a normal life, theres no point living a horrible life without enjoying good food etc, its no life if all u do is worry about blood pressure etc, do ur best and enjoy life, if that means having to take a pill a day than so be it, my parents have been on cholesterol and blood pressure pills for thirty years and they are fine into their 80's still eating good food and drinking wine, (Red) so be kool and have fun, cheers.

I found out, totally by accident, that mine was due to stress of raising an Autistic child on my own. I was on a antidepressant used for treating pinched nerves (sounds odd, but it helped) and found out that my blood pressure went down when on it. After physical therapy though, I was able to go off of these and again my pressure went up. I didn't do well on other things, so finally said forget it. I went Homeopathy.
If you type in all the symptoms, and I mean anything..even the oddball ones like ..for example..a little insomnia, it can help figure out a homeopathic remedy. Your local heathfood shop can usually tell you more about these and help you order what you need. Do some research before taking anything. This is just the essence of the item and is very diluted, but for some reason got my body back in balance. I've been fine since then. If you have a homeopathic practicioner in your area, they might be worth consulting as well.
Also, if you do decide on this method, do not touch the small tablet. Use the cap to put it in your mouth. If you touch it, it supposidly effects the energy in the tablet.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

Sounds like you are doing all the right things, and the weight loss definitely does help. Unfortunately some people will have high BP regardless and will need treatment. It also has to do with age.
Stress is a HUGE factor, in the office and life in general. Coffee (caffeine) and cigarettes also raise your BP (right before they took your BP and/or in general)
A lot of local pharmacies have automatic BP machines. You should try checking your every couple of weeks. You have to sit with your back supported for about 5 minutes, preferably no coffee or cigarettes, before checking it. This would also let you know if its the white coat that's scaring you ! (a very true phenomenon)
Oh and lots of salt is not good either.
JNC 7 is the newest guidelines for hypertension prevention and treatment.

Good luck.

If you can find a star fruit....eat lots of it....it will help you to lower the high blood pressure. Does not hurt to try, beside it tastes good too.

Stress can cause blood preasure to vary but I dont think it would be that much. You may want to start to exercise every day. It doesn't need to be anything crazy maybe just walk or jog 20min. each day.

One important thing that you "forgot" to mention....how's your weight. You can do everything that you mentioned and still be considerably overweight.
