Because they're biased towards the religion into which they were indoctrinated since infancy. Because they are selectively reasonable... they recognize the irrationality of Zeus, Woden, Ninsun, Krishna, FSM, Quetzalcoatl, Jengu, Dionysus, etc, but are apparently either incapable or unwilling to recognize the equally absurd notion that the Judeo-Christian gOd might exist.

Zeus wasn't 'made up' he was simply a more primitive perception of the almighty. Like when the greeks said there were only four elements. Not true, but not just 'made up' it was based on the some evidence. Our periodic table (our present-day perception of God) is based on more logical, systematic information.

Because Zeus is one of the old 'gods' during a time when there was more than one. They believe that just because they have one god that it makes it more real. To me, they're just following the trend of hundreds of years of narrow thinking.

not all of us believe Zeus was made up. I do think there was some poetic liciense taken when the stories were told but there are other powerful intities accoprding to Eph. 5

Genesis 6:1-4: "Now it came about that when men started to grow in numbers on the surface of the ground and daughters were born to them, 2 then the sons of the [true] God began to notice the daughters of men, that they were good-looking; and they went taking wives for themselves, namely, all whom they chose. 3 After that Jehovah said: “My spirit shall not act toward man indefinitely in that he is also flesh. Accordingly his days shall amount to a hundred and twenty years.”

4 The Neph´i·lim proved to be in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of the [true] God continued to have relations with the daughters of men and they bore sons to them, they were the mighty ones who were of old, the men of fame.

I am not sure that those character from Greek mythology are not based on some truth.

We know them today but they use pseudonyms…

Zeus was Satan...
We can find original text written in Greek, Latin as well as Hebrew. The Greek alphabet was assigned numerical values (The X gives the Z sound of Xylophone) X (=Chi) 600; Xi (shaped like a curled capital E) 60 and S (Sigma) 6. (Although Sigma is no longer used, it was) Thus 600, 60 and 6 spells XES, the Greek spelling for Zeus. In the KJV translation - where the name of the prophet Elisha (meaning 'My God is Saviour') has been retained in the paganised form 'Eliseus' (My god is Zeus). In similar fashion, the Name of the Hebrew Messiah YAHU'SHUAH (meaning 'YAHU is Saviour') has been paganised to read 'JeZeus', ('God is Zeus') which later became 'Jesus' in the English language (pronounced 'Jezus').

600 (X), 60 (Xi,=E), 6 (S) the number of his name, clearly spells XES the original Greek spelling for ZEUS.

Venus… In the Bible – She was referred to as the Queen of Heaven…

Jeremiah 44:17 (NIV) "We will certainly do everything we said we would: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our fathers, our kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm." …And there are those who claim that it's referring to Venus, Asherah, Ashtoreth, Ishtar, or Isis. They are all the same person. Venus is equivalent to the Egyptian Goddess Isis, the Phoenician Astarte and the Babylonian Ishtar.

Was Satan really Zeus aka Adam and was Venus really Eve aka Isis?

Jeremiah 1- Prophecy Part 3… Heads of “Zeus/Nike” abound on buildings in D.C. Isis is in grid layouts and in bas-relief sculptures of Greek and Roman gods and goddesses from one end of town to the other. The ancient story unfolds of Satan’s first child (first-born Cain) and his first Great Eagle Goddess, who was “Eve” (Isis). This Isis “Queen of Egypt” aka Venus is the worshipped Madonna with Child (Isis and Osiris) for today’s German/Roman Catholics and others.

So as you see from the statement above, Satan’s first child is Cain, which means Satan is Adam who was Zeus. And Eve (Venus) was Isis the Madonna and Child.

But to clarify a misnomer about Venus

There are so many different versions of these stories handed down.

There is one who says Zeus was married to Dione and had a daughter Aphrodite.

There is one that says Venus is Aphrodite. Wrong!!!!!

There is one that says Venus is the daughter of Uranus and Gaia. She is known as the Daughter of Heaven and Sea (Creation)

So if Venus is Uranus' daughter and Aphrodite is Zeus’ daughter, they cannot be one in the same!!!!

In addition the planet Venus was named after her. In astrology she rules Libra.

And I’m sure she would be insulted at being called Aphrodite!

Yes, Venus was around long before Mary!!!

And I think it’s about high time she was forgiven for eating that apple!

If you asked me Satan aka Adam lied and it was he who was the evil one.

Religious bias, Zeus has just as much merit as Yahweh... So that means none. However, it's blind faith of religion that inhibits any rational, logical thought.

well Jesus fits in more logically than any other god. like newton once said, science and religion(referring to Christianity) are mutually supportive. science does not diminish the existence of a supreme being, rather it further indicates the existence of one. take the human genome project for example, the guy heading it was once atheist but the more he discovered about the human code, the more he became convinced that god handcrafted humans = )

Zeus isn't made up; he is based on Nimrod, Horus, Osiris.

I think his sudden finding of God was more to do with the comfort it gave him when his parents died, rather than it being true.
