Run and get some echinnacea (I hope the spelling is right). You better rest a lot and gargle with warm salt water. If you are running around in and out of places your body will be too tired to heal itself. Eat chicken noodle soup with pepper and garlic. If possible make it yourself it is simple boil the darned chicken with broth or bouillon, add celery, onions and carrots. If you like pasta throw it in if not use potatoes. Add the juice of half of a lemon.

i just read an article in a magazine about this

drink a lot of liquids and drink a lot of chicken soup (with veggies) - has very good nutrients to help make you better faster.
these nutrients inhibit the inflammatory cells that cause many problems.

also start taking medicine right away to help fight away anything.

gargle some salt water every few hours.

avoid aspirin, if you need to take something, take ibuprofen.

take vitamins and try adding 2 tablespoons of apple-cider vinegar and 1 tablespoon of honey to a mug of hot water. Down it 3-4 times a day.

Gargle with Listerine (only Listerine - not the other kinds), it really works for the throat symptoms. Besides that, take two extra strength of your favorite painkiller (tylenol, ibuprophen or aspirin) every four hours. Drink hot liquids and try to get rest (especially before and after the party).

Studies on echinachea have not found it to be effective.

Party (dance, have fun) - you'll work up a sweat which is good and you'll have plenty of time to recoup after the holiday weekend.
But when you go out, take your painkillers with you and keep taking 2 every four hours regular. Its easier to keep symptoms under control that to knock them out once they are acting up. Forget about decons and antihists - they will just make you feel drowsy and lousy. Stick with the otc painkillers with no added ingredients.

Feel better, and have a good weekend.

Gargle salt water, and increase the humidity level in your house. Maybe spend time in the bathroom with the hot shower running to inhale some steam.

Halls Plus are great cough drops.

Pick up a vitamin supplement called Emer-gen-c -- it' can't hurt.

Best bet would be to see a doctor and get on anti-biotics if necessary. You probably have post-nasal drip, sinusitus, bronchitis, or strep.

Make sure you get a lot of sleep. Also, try looking at your throat in the mirror. If it is only red, then it is an infection. If there are any small white bumps or spots, call your doctor because it is a bacteria and you need an antibiotic. Then it is probably strep.

It's sounds like you have the right idea. I'm having the same thing :-( Super stopped up nose, sore throat, cough. Keep the liquids flowing, get plenty of rest, and try taking something called AirBorn. (I think that's what it's called) It tastes horrible, but it works.
Good Luck! I hope you get better.

Ginger-Epsom Bath:

Run water into the tub as hot as you can stand it.
Add 1 cup of Epsom Salts
1 small (2oz) spice container of ground Ginger.
Soak in the tub, sipping plenty of warm to hot water.
What you want to do is SWEAT the toxins out of your body.
After about 30 minutes, wrap yourself into a big towel and then a blanket.
Lay down, watch TV, listen to music or read. REST for another 30 minutes.
Then take a comfortably warm shower, scrubbing yourself well with a brush.

This method has helped me and my whole family quickly overcome colds.

What I do when having a cold is that I drink LOTS of water as the main beverages. No juices no sodas- WATER! Water flushes out toxins from the body, healing you faster. If your throat is sore, gargle your throat with listerine.
Drink filtered or bottled water every day. Unfiltered tap water contains contaminants.

You should just go see your doctor. They are more intelligent than anyone on here. And until you can get it, just drink a lot of liquids and get some rest. Good Luck, i hope you feel better for new years.

If it's a cold PH balanced vitamin C works wonders. If it's strep throat go to the doctor for a prescription.
