I think you are looking at it from a negative, biased perspective. You need to view all things with an open mind.
We dont have "our own Bible," the Book of Mormon is another testament (like the Old and New Testaments) of Jesus. It was written by prophets in the Americas at the time Jesus was on Earth. Then, with Gods help, it was translated into English by a prophet named Joseph Smith. (Havent you ever wondered why there are prophets all over the place in the Bible, and not any more?)
The different levels of heaven depend on your actions. They are all wonferful, and there is no hell. The celestial kingdom is for people who are faithful members of the Mormon Church. You magnify your callings in the church, pay an honest tithe, and follow Gods commandments. The telestial kingdom is for very good non-Mormons and Mormons who are not as faithful as those awarded the celestial kingdom. And the terrestrial kingdom is for the least pious of people on Earth.
The polygamy issue never goes away. Think of it this way. Before Jesus came, God, through prophets, told the people they could only eat certain meats prepared a certain way, a commandment that ended after Jesus came to Earth. It was Gods way of keeping the people safe and healthy. Polygamy was a way to keep the early church afloat. When it was not needed any longer, God told the prophet at the time to cease the practice. Anyone who currently practices polygamy is not a real Mormon. If they are discovered, they will be excommunicated from the church. Any groups who practice or condone polygamy are not affiliated with the Mormon church, no matter what they claim.
Please ask to visit church again with your friend. Talk to some of his friends there, and arrange for the missionaries to teach you at your home, or, your Mormon friend could even host lessons with the missionaries at his house. They have studied the scriptures a long time, and can answer all of your questions. Visit http://www.mormon.org to find a local church

If you read the Bible, you will find out that some of these principles have been taught in the Old and New Testament. Paul taught in Corinthians that there are three levels in heaven. So knock the Mormons for actually reading. How many wives did Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon, etc have?
Are all people who "love" Christ the same? Why did He call some sheep and others goats?
Don't worry about the other scriptures, finish the one's you have.

The first myth we need to eliminate is that The Book of Mormon archeology exists... If one is to study the Book of Mormon archeology, then one must have a corpus of data with which to deal. We do not...No Book of Mormon location is known with reference to modern topography. Biblical archaeology can be studied because we do know where Jerusalem and Jerico were and are, but we do not know where Zarahemla and Bountiful (nor any other location for that matter) were or are.
The Book of Mormon is pure myth and they are counterfiet Christians. In other words a Cult. They teach that Jesus was born in heaven as the spirit child of Elohim (Heavenly Father) by one of his wives, and Jesus' brother was Lucifer, who became Satan. They say that Jesus is one of many Gods.
Mormons are lovely people, but have been very misinformed.

Mormons are nice people but their church has deceived them and lied to them.
They write their own Bible because they didn't like what this one said.
The different levels of heaven you ask about are not taught in the Book of Mormon. It teaches there is a single place called heaven!
Polygamy is taught against in the Bible and in the BOM, but they do it anyway.

Well I had Bible study with some mormons, they were very pleasant but extreme, Everytime I would talk of my faith they would cut me off, and they would leave,
I also was quite bothered by the sexist and racial under tones,
even tho the professed equality, they did not in my opinion behave so.
In addition, they would be quite annoyed by the fact that I did not feel comfortable praying in the same manner in which they did.
In my opinion they are very controled and closed.
Please do not think this is every LDS, just the ones I met.

Not everyone who loves Christ is the same. I don't believe the book of mormon is true so I can't answer all of your questions. I'm also not Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, Pentacostal, etc. so that just goes to show that there are many different types of Christians.

It's just as patriarchical and delusional as any other religion, with a hefty dose of narcissism (i.e., becoming a God of your own planet after you die) thrown in for fun.
The only *real* difference between Mormonism and Christianity, though, is that the former is a few thousand years younger than the latter. But both have been considered "cults" and both paint an equally implausible picture of the universe.

Look in any relgious encyclopedia--you will see Mormonism is under NON-Christian religions. Its actually a cult by definition.
If you study it you will find that NO evidence points to Hebrews being in the America's. The book of Mormon has huge problems with evidence(it claims animals and metals were there is no proof for them)
look at http://www.whatismormonism.com/ for a start.
