I don't have any specific requirements such as this much megapixel or that much optical zoom or something. All I want is the best which I can get in AU$400. Cheers.

Canon PowerShot S3 IS (less than 400 US dollar) or Canon PowerShot A630 (less then 300).

Best camera I have ever owned is the Canon S1 IS 3.2 megapixels and 10x optical zoom. there is also a s2 and s3 out now. all in your price range

Get a Canon. They are the best company ever!!! They sell the best cameras. Look at both of these sites!
