hi, it seems lately whenever i hear someone is having a baby or is pregnant, i become very sad or even start to cry. But, the thing is I am only a high school student who is not even focused on having children or thinking about doing so in the future. i find it kind of weird because a lot of people my age dream about how many kids they'll have and what they'll name them and etc, and i could really care less. do you think I should talk to a counselor or someone in that nature about my feelings? Thanks a lot!!

I absolutely think you should talk to someone you can trust and feel safe with opening up about how you really feel on this subject. Not wanting to have children is a personal choice, but maybe one day you will decide that you infact do want children. But i would definately put that off to the distant future, get your education first..

it's perfectly normal to be confused about if you want kids or not, especially if you're really still a kid yourself. not sure about crying about it, doesn't sound quite right. the real question is do you think you need counseling, do you want someone to talk to about your feelings with? if there's something wrong and you don't know what, maybe it would be a good idea for you to talk to someone to help you figure it out. it doesn't have to be a counselor, it can be a friend, it's up to you, really. some people are more comfortable talking to someone they don't know.

Talk to someone. Something is going on there, and it would be good to find out WHAT. You may be suffering from undiagnosed depression. It's better to get it checked out now rather than later!
