The best way is to buy an airline ticket and travel with the puppy on your lap, which most airlines will allow if it is a small dog, as most puppies are. You have to have some kind of "crate", there are soft-sided ones that are great for puppies. You can also check dogs in a secure kennel as luggage. There are also professional pet transporters that can help. Lots of of great info at http://www.petsonthego.com/transairlineregs.html

Well, personally, I do not recommend shipping a puppy; especially if it's a young puppy. But in order to help, I need to know what size and the age.

Yes as long as you make shore that the puppy is going to the right place and it has enough food and waterand some where to go to the bathroom at amd someone to watch it and some one to make shore it doesnt die in the cage or run out of air or any thing.

You will need to get the cat health papers that say that it is current on shots, internal and external parasite free (no fleas or worms) and that it is healthy enough to travel. Then you will need to see if you are flying it what airports it will go through and their requirments for pets. If you are driving it you need to know the requirements of every state it will travel through in case you are stopped for whatever reason and some one asks if it is current for that state. Good luck and I hope this helps.

You will have to contact the airline your taking, some have very strict rules. I know none of them will fly animals in the summer because we get so hot here. But right now its chillly here so maybe they will let you. I would suggest asking to bring him or her on board with you so he or she doesnt get stuck in cargo part of the plane.
