I am a temporary immigrant (L1 visa) in the US, I got a Social security and NJ drivers license. Me and my family planning a trip to Niagara Falls, Canada. My question is.. Do Canadian border authorities and the US allow me to drive to Canada?

u should check with immigration first to clarify, as i am not sure what the law is for temporary immigrants

us citizens, for example, can do so, as long as they have their drivers' licence with them...for extra precautions, i would bring the visa with u and any other paperwork u may have

No, you cannot drive legally in NYC. I am also a 17 year old from NJ with my provisional drivers license. You can only drive within the state of New Jersey until you get your basic license when you are 18 years old.

If you have a passport and if you have a green card you can travel to Canada. If you do not have a green card then you have to apply for a visa to go to Canada at the Canadian Embassy. If you do have a green card even if it is temporary green card and a passport you can travel and drive in Canada. Enjoy.

If you are not a landed immigrant in the states (I don't know what they call it down there) or you are not an American citizen then you are still considered a citizen of your former country and would have to honour their agreements with our Ministry of Immigration.

yes, but you will have to go throught cutomes. You may want to go the triple aaa, and get assistance. They will be able to tell you, if you need anything else.
