I have a 3 yr old, 8lb Chihuahua. His bevhavioral issues range from pulling the leash to attacking people and actually drawing blood. It's like something triggers in his brain and he just freaks out, won't listen to me at all, he goes into this pyschotic state of mind. But he can also be really normal at times so I just don't know how to handle him, he gives me anxiety and makes a simple walk dreadful. Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated!

Hi ,
The type of dog and his temperment has a lot to do with this. These little guys are almost always a little afraid of the world. Can get upset easily.
First, never hit your dog, merely, scold him and lay your hand firmly on his back as you do so. He will eventually understand what it is you want him to stop doing.
Also, Always remember, he thinks he's doing his job as the protector. He doesn't want anyone to hurt you in any way. This is his way of saying, "that's MY person, I love them" Stay back.

The best thing to do would probably go to some class training dogs. But meanwhile you can still try some of the followings.
1) Give him alot of affection and everytime your dog does sumthing good, give him a treat and show your happy.
2) Try to walk sumplace else then the street for a while, like a trail in the woods, sumwhere really calm so he won't bark after everyone.
3) It would be really good for your dog to have a cage because when he does sumthing bad (like bitting someone or barking really loud), you put him in his cage for 5 minutes everytime. If this dosen't work, increase the time of punishment but not higher then 15 minutes. Eventually he will calm down and listen.
4) Don't hit your dog , this will make him physically mad and he will eventually hurt sum body really bad.
5) When he listens to you give him affection and a treat, when he doesn't, send him to his cage.

Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!:)

you have to get a professional trainer! because if you don't, he is going to get put down!! Obviously he's got issues, did you get him recently? maybe something happened to him when he was young which is causing him distress, so i reckon you need a professional, believe me, it's worth the money, or else get used to the idea that he may be destroyed in the future. sorry, but get real.
