You can't stop a determined thief, but you can take measures to stop others and help find it. Use secret switches and lojack :)

I hooked a loud horn to my door to go off when it was opened :)

Cut the tires, drain the gas, and park it in your garage, on its back. Even so... The rule is: "If they want it bad enough, they'll get it."
The trick is to make your ride as uninviting to a thief as possible. Park it in a well lighted area. Put an alarm in it. Even the dummie blinking red led will deter. A wheel club. Warning stickers about the stereo being uninstall disabled, etc. and keep all valuables OUT OF SIGHT. Even if they don't steal the car, they'll break in to steal the stuff IN it.

Well, there's the direct approach. "Excuse me sir, please don't steal my car." Works best if you have a loaded .357 in your hand at the time.

In the garage, with the door locked is a good determent. Alarm systems don't do a whole lot of good, except the higher priced ones that won't let the car start. But no matter what you do, if someone wants it bad enough, it will vanish. Lo Jack system will find it after the fact. Maybe.

Always lock the doors. And get an alarm system. You know, one of the cool ones from RoboCop that shoots flames at any potential thief. That would be cool!

if they want it bad enough, they'll find a way to steal it 99% of the time. u could jerry rig a switch that will prevent the coil from firing. if ya dont have a coil, ya dont get a spark. no spark, no runnin engine.

Drive a hyundai...

But short of something drastic like that, park in well lighted areas or locked garage, always lock it, and keep valuables out of sight.

get an alarm and a tracking device. Don't leave your car in places that are bad, like bad neighborhoods and if you're going to do it, don't do it during the night.
