What would your concern be? Aesthetics or pain? Tattooing on a part of the body that has little flesh between the skin and bone is more painful, as are areas where the skin is thin and sensative - the underside of the arm and along the ribcage are good examples.

If it's how the tattoo will look on your body, a good artist will help design and size a tattoo so that it fits your body. I might not do an armband on an exceptionally thin person because it would empathize how thin the limb is.

A well done tattoo can accentuate the best atributes of your body, so if you decide to do it, choose your artist and design carefully.

In terms of whether to get one or not...I wouldn't make your decision based on what a bunch of random strangers are telling you...it's YOUR body and you should do it if you feel that you want to.

In terms of being thin....it should prob only affect you in the same way that it would affect others....more sensitive over bone and more sensitive in certain areas of the body. You have less padding on your body. :)

re: comments made about your increased risks on contracting viruses or diseases....if you make sure that you go to an artist that uses hygenic and sterile materials, it should not be a problem. If you statistically look at things like HIV cases from tattoos...there are only 4 known cases on getting HIV from a tattoo and those came from individuals who got their tattoos in jail using a non sterile method and non sterile equipment. The person should look up actual numbers and stats before saying their "facts"....

best of luck.

People used to get tattoos to show some individuality. Then everyone started getting them. So much for individuality when you see a dozen people with the same tattoo.

I finally think that the fad of getting tattoos is starting to fade as so many people are regretting the ones that they got.

As far as being very thin, I have a friend who weighs about 95 lbs and she has a tattoo. It hasn't effected her and she hasn't effected it, except that it is kind of a lame tattoo.

If you want a tattoo, then get a tattoo. It's your personal choice and for your satisfaction only. And the size of your body doesn't affect tattoos. I love tattoos and support them fully...just make sure you choose a professional to do it and make sure they sterilize and such. Good Luck!

Its up to you if you want a tattoo and it doesn't matter if your thin, average or overweight. You could still get a tattoo.

being thin has no negative aspects when tattoos are concerned, except for maybe having less surface area available to be tattooed. if you want a tattoo then i say go for it. just be sure to thoroughly check out your tattoo artist and look at their portfolio first. not all tattooers are good tattoo artists. good luck!

If you have to ask strangers then you don't have a good reason to get a tatoo yet.
A tatoo, since it's permanent is something you think about for at least a year solid before you do it.
Get the art you want to put on yuu and put it somewhere where you can see it often, if you still want it after six months get it.

No, and no. Tattoos are tacky and they stay with you the rest of your life. Call me a narrow-minded neanderthal, but some people in this world still pass judgment on tattooed people. And I'm brave enough to admit I'm one of them. It's like the clown who came to a job interview with me once with an earring in his year (a male). Was he really stupid enough to think I was going to hire him (I'm in a conservative part of the country and in a conservative profession.) ?

Go ahead. Express your individual freedom however you want. But its not my responsibility to support you on welfare when you can't find employment due to the lousy way you present yourself.

depending on what your gonna get, it could make you look thinner, you could also get a temporary tat and see if you dont like it after all. most important is to ask to see a portfolio of someones work before you do get it. it takes a true artist to understand the shade factors and dimensional angles of it, again depending on what your gonna get. do lots of research first my friend.
