when i first got my pc it had the option of recovery on the boot menu so it would just reinstall xp with its components but now i have reinstalled xp all the files for the system rocovery have gone if i installed Acronis True Image would i be able to have the choice of recovery where it basicly restores it?

Acronis can create a secure zone (a hidden partition ) that can restore your pc using the F11 button. Or you can back up to an external drive,dvd or ftp.

Probably not. Running it now is like wearing a condom after your wife get pregnant. there are other recovery tools out there by Acronis that would work much better for what you are trying to do.
