You should read the ENTIRE article on Snopes...this was a vote to TABLE the motion(make sure we never hear about it again). This was in response to Congress that wanted illegals that BECOME legal to pay back taxes on any previously earned income. Others said, if they had to pay any previous taxes, then they should also get credit for Social security wages.

Yeah--B F Deal! What about the ability for their children to enroll in our public schools systems without paying the same taxes of residency?

What about the medical costs they don't pay for basic, emergency, and birthing expenses?

What about the monies they earn here and don't spend here?

What about their inability to use the rights guaranteed under the constitution as they take prevailing wage jobs from those who are legal?

There's more issues that are more problematic than this--get informed universally instead of minutely.

The Senate actually passed a bill that has anything to do with illegal immigration in this country? Wow! I don't think they did. I'd be more shocked if they passed actually passed ANY bill regarding illegal immigration.

bills need pass both house of congress, before going to the white house for the President signature to make the bill become part of the law of the land or Nation.

That's about like saying a lit candle can burn, but people cease to be careful after it is put out.
