Your daughter will not even remember this birthday. But if you are insistent, then keep it very, very simple and have a few relatives over and that's it.

Actually, it's not true that you should do a big party for the 1st birthday because at that age they can easily be overwhelmed and often times cry (especially when it comes time to blow out the candles on the cake). Sometimes it is best to keep it small and keep it simple for a 1st birthday. If you want to do a big birthday, try doing just a smaller one first at home a couple of days before the big one. That might help to transition a little better.

At "one" a nice party at your home filled with balloons is a great way to celebrate. Having the people around that the little girl is fond of but be careful when you all sing Happy Birthday, for some reason this seems to scare alot of little ones. Anyway keep it simple but fun for her. So many forget that its about the child and end up having an adult party that isn't really for the child.

Do NOT do a big party. The child has no clue as to what is going on and usually winds up cranky and miserable while the adults act like idiots. A small family party (her parents and grandparents and parent's siblings) is enough of a party. Best to hold off on the big parties for when she knows what is going on and can appreciate them.

i dn't think so.she will not have so much fun having too much people around.some babies panic from the crowd and noise, specially that there will be strangers who will want to play with her while she might be scared or not interested.BIG PARTY sometimes spoils the day in that age.hwever,u can make a small one where u invite ur family and the closed ones whom she likes.she will like that.speak to her about the day and the party ,try singing her the birthday song before that so that she gets used to it and understands what's ging on that day.put her pic or favourite cartoon character on the cake.and don't expect much from her that day.don't force her t dance or sing or play with the gifts, some kids are interested in the boxes more than the toys.let her have fun her waay ,not ur way,coz it's her party.even if she wants to sleep, put her to bed knowing that she had had enough fun, better than keeping her up and then putting her to bed when she cries or panics, that way u will spoil aall what u did,coz she will sleep late and angry instead of early and thrilled.happy birthday.

Do what you want. You should know how your child reacts to situations. I laugh when people say oh she will be over stimulated. Too funny. You have had your daughter for a year and have gone through numerous family occasions by now.
Have a party invite whoever you wish. Does she like Dora, Backyardigans. Elmo. Have a blast. We did when our daughter turned one.

Ignore them. The perfect party is smaller - with a limited number of people/kids as to not overwhelm her.
There are many websites with ideas - type in girls first birthday.

Don't you have ENOUGH to do????
Do whatever is low stress, something you can enjoy, and that the baby will enjoy, too. She doesn't care about fancy food or even a cake. She will just want to play with the wrapping paper and enjoy the love of her family.

Yes. What does she like to watch? You hsould get the WHOLE family, ( from both sides ) and throw like a huge spongebob party! Eveyrone loves spongebob and he's a very kid-like cartoon. I hope this works.

for my one year old nephews 1st birthday we had an elmo party, because he loves elmo.
do something that your little girl loves. she will have a ball..and make sure to invite everyone and make her the center of attention. and let her destroy the cake, thats the best thing about being 1 on your birthday. you can make a mess of yourself :) :)
happy birthday to your little girl!
have a happy new year!
god bless.
