Is this a good idea? I have lots of free time, and verty little money! I could finally aford to do many things on spring break if I did this though. But I have very high marks rights noe, would a job cause them to fall?

I worked nearly full-time and went to school full-time.

Partying suffered a bit, and when I got heavily involved (with the guy I ended up marrying), my grades went way down....there are just so many hours in a day to divy up, you know, and my priorities had changed (for the worse). :)

My resume looked good though, and employers are always impressed when you mention to them that you worked X hours a week while carrying a full-time class schedule. It shows that you are capable, know your limits, and can manage your life efficiently.

So give it a try and if you can manage....keep doing it!

I went to U full time and worked part time. Its the best thing I ever did. I got work experience and an education. Priceless.

No your grades don't go down. Know your limits. You may have to drop to taking 12 units a semester. Make sure you find an employer that is willing to work with your hours.

I worked 24 hours a week and went to University full time (took 12 units a semester). It was hard, but worth it.

i don't believe it would. Im going to college right now and working evenings three times a week. It gives me just enough time to come home and study and then go to work in the evening. Just to let you know I just got my grades and I have 4 As and two B's so its not affecting my school work. I know what you meen I have bee so low on money. Thank god the minimum wage in California is going to increase!

I work full time and go to school full time. I've done this for three going-on-four years. I am a Senior and I have managed to maintain a 3.6 GPA. But it's not easy. you have to be good at time management. But only working part time you should be fine. Just don't get behind on your work.

It is a good idea as long as you keep track of your time; make sure you give yourself enough time to study and keep up in your classes, and the job will give you good financial support and experience.
