If the house is at the South Pole, which is has to be if all sides face north, then the bird flying by has to be a Skua or an Arctic Tern or something.
It can't, as they've said, be a Penguin, as penguins can't fly.

There are no living animals besides humans at the South Pole, its much to cold and there's no food for animals to eat, However,at the edge of the continent where the land meets the sea, there are a lot of living things, penguins and seals, sea birds and whales.

It's a phoenix.
Since it is not possible for all 4 sides to face North, it must be a nonexistent bird.

That doesn't work.
The house would have to be built directly on the south pole.
There's no birds at the south pole.
(I don't think.)

Theoretically, it could be any bird as long as your "house" is in slipstream-space. However, the way slipstreamspace works is ..... so .... therefore the bird doesn't exist.
