Generally, they go to the door, listen, and then knock. They ask the people to hold the noise down, and warn them that failure to do so, or further complaint can constitute a citation or possible arrest for disturbing the peace, public disturbance, or a noise ordnance (depending on local ordinances).

Usually tell them to keep it down the first time, then charge them for Disturbing the Peace the next!

They try and reason with the offenders, and if they are called back, they arrest them for disturbing the peace and noise pollution.

they tell the poeple to quite it down.
some states have laws about lound music along with some cities. it is often hard to prove these cases or takes a lot of steps.
people will allways party and turn the music back up after the police leave.

We warn them on the first call, and arrest them on the second call, unless they are a smarta** on the first call, then they get arrested the first time out.

they will hear your complaint; tell you to contact your manager and tell the noisy person to quiet down. that usually starts a war.

They come and tell you to shut up (not in those words, of course) and if you don't they do... worse stuff. Like fines and things like that.
