Because we are so ignorant we dont listen to him when he talks to us. People expect a thundering voice but its not. Its in small ways, when your eyes are spiritually open you'll know he is always speaking to you. If you pray alot, even for little things you can see the small and big stuff God showes us. He does speak to us. And to you, but you need to look around to find it.=)

If you go and read the Old Testament, you'll find that God didn't talk to most people in person then either. He confined his conversations to his prophets (most generations didn't even have one!) and to the highest of priests (two or three per generation; they distinguished themselves by waving around bits of dead beef and sprinkling blood on a seat).

You'll also see that the people of Israel frequently fell into adopting the religions of the people in surrounding regions. The reason for this is that God wasn't talking to anyone for years and years at a time... then the high priests would get a message that those who had fallen away had to be punished, and there would be a civil war.

An unbiased observer would say that God does talk to us in person like he did in the days of the Old Testament -- only to a very few, and they're not always believed.

frequently, 70% of the authentic prophecies interior the bible are errant. the various prophecies that ring authentic maximum in lots of cases do so interior right here way: a million) an adventure (earthquake, war) occurs 2) 2 generations (e.g. 60 years) after the form, a scribe writes a e book and predates it to in the previous the form. 3) the scribe by risk mentions places that don't yet exist (e.g. Nazareth) or people who have not yet been born. 4) the fantasy is oftentimes happening interior the writings

Its simple really. Back in those days people were largely uneducated. Ignorance was rampant. There was no internet or tv. If someone told you the world was flat you would believe it. What proof was there otherwise? Remember these people didnt even know North and South America existed. If the same people (Jesus and Mohamed) were alive today instead, and they tried to push that crap on people they would end up in a mental institution. The reason is this : God has NEVER spoken to ANYONE because there is no God.

I don't say that God talks to me because I am not a liar like the ancient political leaders like Moses, Abraham, the Roman Caesars, Greek Kings, or Japanese Emperors.

Pat Robertson claims that God speaks to him. He said that a tsunami would hit the Pacific Northwest this year. God has two days left to make good on his promise.

sometimes He still does, as in some people in current ages HAVE heard the audible voice of God, but after Jesus died, He sent the Holy Spirit to help us. Before Jesus death the Holy Spirit had not come to be with us. The Holy Spirit speaks to us everyday, all the time. We just have to learn to listen, to KNow His voice, and do what He says. God speaks through the holy Spirit to our hearts, our spirits ALL the time, whether we listen or believe.

Who did he talk to in person, with the possible exception of Moses? Everyone else got an angel. As for Moses, he was said to glow for many years later, possibly from a severe dose of radiation.

The OT is mostly mythology. God never talked to the people. The leaders just said that he did in order to get the people to do what they wanted.

God never talked to anybody in person. Moses was probably the closest. I guess what you mean is- why not the same acts today? I prefer to talk to him through prayer. i think the other way would scare the bejesus out of me.
