Why didn't Pontiac come out with a street version of K.I.T.T?

For those of you who don't know what K.I.T.T stands for, it's the Knight Industries Two Thousand. The Knight Rider car.

Oops, I meant to say "KITT replica"

because KITT really was not that cool. tv made it appear that way, but KITT could not do all the stuff that the show pretended that it did. that would have been pretty cool though if it did.
