Hello

Its still high season and the nicest weather in southern Thailand, so the south might be a nice first stop. Why go to Pattaya? It's not really a tourist destination, more so like a giant wore house. The beaches are poor and cold and windy.

The train trip down south is amazing. Slow but amazing.

The two main islands in the south are Phuket and Koh Samui. There is a bridge to Phuket, so you can travel there by car, bus or train. Phuket is much more touristy with many things to do, like running for your life when a tsunami hits.

The cities of central Thailand and rather plain, mostly light industrial. Examples would be Nakhon Sawan and Khon Kean. BE CAREFUL! Thais spell names differently from place to place!! Silly but true.

High speed buses and trains will allow you to really see a lot, and they are supper cheap.

Chang Mai is always nice. Book nice hotels in advance and watch out for festivals.

Good luck

Well, Pattaya is an interesting representation of what foreigners will create in Thailand, but less so of Siam itself.. As to the rte, up to you, - When you say the islands down south, are you talking south of Pattaya? - Koh Chang is nice.. or south by going back to Bkk and down to Krabi, Phuket area? - - Well, general info might be that bus tends to be the best way to travel, esp if you are coming north. The busses are very nice. I would recommend that you skip through some of the smaller cities on the way.. I live near Tak and it is genuinely Thai, few tourists, quite safe etc.. abt 2/3 of the way to CM.. which I find quite touristy as are many. most of the places that are widely known.. if you want more specific info, feel free to contact me.. Enjoy your travels and smile - Thais love a smile.. it means something to them..

It depends on travel's favorite you are. Mostly spend your time here like: Arrival - City tour in Bangkok & Ayyuddha (old capital city and world heritage). Then choose to go North (for cultural and nature lover), then South for a beautiful beach Andamansea. For Pattaya, it's ok for beach city and Koh Lan Island, Pattaya today likes the Entertainment city not a place for natural relax. All of these can be tailor-made to meet your needs. My company offers a greeting service & airport transfer. Please contact "Nancy" at nttour@mail.com and no matter of money, I can work as a Travel Consultant, for business promotion.

perfect direction or perfect mode of transportation? here is the perfect direction in step with threat no longer as good as that guy who spend an entire 3 months in Thailand and knows all of it however the perfect i will do considering the fact that I stay here and been to those places. Take a bus or prepare to Chumpon and a van to the pier take the ferry to Koh Tao, then the ferry from Koh Tao to Koh Pha ngan, then the ferry to Koh Samui. From Koh Samui you could the two fly direct to Phuket and take a boat to Koh Phi Phi, or you could take the ferry from Koh Samui to Sarat Thani and a bus to Krabi the place you bypass to the pier and take a boat to Koh Phi Phi and then a boat from Koh Phi Phi to Phuket. From Phuket you could the two fly back to Bangkok or take the bus.
