Ryan's mom is correct. Yeasted baked goods will not retain freshness as long as baked goods leavened with baking powder and/or baking soda. The shelf life of yeasted products can be extended by using fresh yeast, rather than active dry yeast. Fresh yeast, which comes in the form of small, square cakes, is usually found in the refridgerated section of the grocery store, near where the tubes of Pillsbury crescent rolls and such are kept.

Your bread will last you much longer if you freeze the ones you're not ready to use right away, and keep the opened ones closed tight, and in the refrigerator until needed.
You'll find this will keep them fresh several days longer, and save you money.

The yeast. I keep my bread in the fridge so it lasts for weeks.
