Alright, first of all if you want to save money don't got o stylist. There are some key things that you will need.
1) round brush (if u want the crown to be high get a large, but medium round brush would be fine)
2) hair spray
3) Paul Mitchell "thicken up" or even "Extra Body Finishing Spray
4) bobby pins
5) something cute to pull it all together
6) if you want curls like the seond picture then you would need a curling iron.
When your hair is wet flip it upside down and blow dry from the root to the end. Then after to do that spray a little hair spray, not a lot because you don't want your hair to become hard. Also to get the volume that u want I say look for something of Paul Mitchell, you can even get his stuff a target and it works amazing. Flip your head back, then pull the hair that you want half up. Take the round brush and shape the top of you hair to the right amount of volume you want, and then make it lose until you pin it back. I suggest bobby pins to pin it back then use something else to put it all together. I suggest to pin the sides back first, then do the crown. Hairspray it really well and do what you want with the rest. Hope that helps!!
Good luck Have a happy new year

Well...you can back brush that area even if your hair is clean or a day old. If you start from scratch you would brush all your hair forward with mouse or jell. Then brush it back when dry and you will have good body at the roots. Then take a brush and back brush just like back combing. Only you don't want it that full.
Spray with a light hairspray and then brush into place.
You will need a clip of some sort or pins to section it.
Then use some firmer spray and it should be full.
If you can't get this look take the photo into your hairstylist and see if they can do it or recreate it as much as possible.
It helps if your hair is just like that.
Good luck and Happy New Year

If you decide to do it yourself, section the top from the bottom. Your'e going to have to tease the crown area to give it height, but leave some hair out in the front to cover the tease and for your bangs. Smooth it out, spray it and go. It's hard to explain without showing you. This might seem weird to some people, but print these pictures out and take the to a beauty school. When I was in beauty school, we were always playing around with our hair and it looked cute, plus it's cheap. Try it, you have nothing to use. Hope this helps. Have a good New Years. :)

I don't like backcombing, which is making a tangled mess of your hair and covering it up. So to get that look, what I do is blow dry my hair with a round brush, I use a root lifter, then I twist my hair in the back and I use a clip on pony tail to push my hair up, and voila! I pull my bangs out around the front, and it looks fantastic. People ask me if I got it done at the salon.

What a sexy hairstyle!
OKAY this is what you've got to do:
-blowdry your hair under (overdirect the brush) to give it volume
-on the top section, about in the middle of the head (where you want the most volume) hold the section straight up and tease the heck out of the back part of the section (with a bristle brush. or comb. or whatever you've got)
-hairspray the teased part (yes, the messy tangly glob of volume you've made)
-lay the section down and smooth over it so you don't have any of the ugly tangles showing.
-to clip it, I'd criss-cross two bobby pins. it makes a cute little X
good luck! have fun! i might try a similar style.

Like Evangeline Lilly....How to do it- Apply a voluming cream; curl sections of hair.part hair and finger through line up.Get the full effect of this look by wearing an open neck top that allows your hair to take a stage on your one of your breast boob.

if you have curly hair blow dry it so its straight (dont straight iron or it'll be harder to curl)... then get a big barrel curling iron so you can make your hair wavy. seperate your hair. curl the bottom, then the top take a barrel brush, brush your hair so you create the bump look at the top, spray it with hair and then blow dry it to keep the look. clip it then tie it up and tie your hair up
