Like seeing how long ago they signed on or something

Sorry I said this confusingly. What I want to know is if it is possible to see the last time someone signed on, not how long they have been signed on for.

move your cursor over their name and it shows the time theyre on and sometimes they are not online but if you im them they will be on because they have the invisable setting on

Yes. Google a program called Trillian and download it.
Trillian allows you to chat simultaneously on IMC, AOL and Yahoo IM Chat programs. It is geared to work with MSN as well, but many can't get it to work.
Leave your Trillian up and running and it will show you when someone else on your buddy list logs on and if online, how long they have been on.

i think u have to click on the contct's nick and a window should rop withh all the information
