i am an exchange student and i am going home soon and i need to pack...i want to bring my guitar on as a carry on...but it is like 2 inches bigger than the carry on length..will they make me throw it away or get rid of it?:S also...i want to try and bring everything with me...and i have an idea of wearing 2 skirts over a pair of pants along with 2 shirts, possibly 2 bras, 2 sweaters, a jacket, belt, scarf, and possibly a hat...is this allowed? thank you

As far as the layered clothes, I think that they would question why you are wearing so much. You can pack all of those items in your checked luggage. I would suggest about the guitar that you first check with your airline to see what they suggest. Then I would visit the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of what you can and can not bring on the aircraft with you.

I'd get to the airport early in case they won't accept the guitar, then you can pay extra and get it booked in as luggage. As for your outfit - there's plenty of freakily dressed people out there so you'll just blend in with them. They can't tell you that you're not dressed appropriately for the flight so you'll be right. At least everyone at the airport will know what you're doing :)
