I also have cherry cabinets and after having off white walls I now have Behr Premium Plus sold at Home Depot. It is Satin Enamel and the color is Ripe Currant. It is very rich looking and I have off white trim on windows and doorways. My one curtain is a valance that appears to be hand done in needlework with the same color as part of the design. If I had to describe it I would say a deep maroon with gray in it. You would need to do a gray primer so it covers well. You might not think you would like it but get a sample and look at it for a couple days.
