No, it isn't a hoax. I have lived in the Arctic and I have seen the effects first hand - disappearing glaciers, thin polar bears, sea ice arriving later and leaving earlier, etc.

I think climate change is real and is something that has been going on for over 4 billion years. Global warming is a group of people pushing an agenda down our throats for their own reasons. Some will make money for it, some refuse to accept that the world always changes and some hate modern society and want to force everybody to go back in time 500 years or so.

Several things to keep in mind:
* The Earth has gone through five cycles of ice age / warmer period / ice age / warmer period over the last 500,000 years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_age The temperature went up and down, even though there was no impact from "humans burning fossil fuels". So, even if humans were doing nothing, the temperature would be going up or down.
* None of the computer models that people use to predict future climate change could have accurately predicted the temperature changes of the last 50 years. Note that temperatures were on a downhill trend from 1940-1972 or so, making people worried about "global cooling". http://cdiac.ornl.gov/trends/temp/jonescru/graphics/nhshgl.jpg
So, when people use those computer models to predict disaster, remember that the computer models don't work (i.e. they don't line up with what has really been happening).

No, I don't think it is a hoax. In fact, I have been working with an environmental consultant and have learned that things are happening faster than anyone thought they would and it is really important for us all to help to do our part to slow it down. It is real.

Credible Scientists will admit that throughout History the Earth has measured many environmental fluctuations in both directions.
Remember the Ice Age? Remember the Dust Bowl from the 30's?
If you actually seek credibility check out this site.

I don't think the Warming is a hoax, I think the people who state that humas are responsible for it are terrorists in that they knowingly incite terror without a rational reason for it.

in my opinion its a very real issue. example, this past summer i went to visit some family in Poland, the weather there was the hottest in over 200 years. when i was packing i was expecting temperatures in the 70's but i was greeted with 80 and above, well above average. its been said the world naturally goes from ice ages to warmer conditions. the fact is that the earth is getting warmer, and i believe that we as humans are not the only factor, but we are a factor in the heating of the earth.

It is not a hoax, but I can say this: Al Gore's movie is political hype more than science. He is trying to alert people to something that, until now, most have not paid any attention to. And he is doing it like any good politician, with lots of hype and fear mongering. And it is working. Look at all the discussion it has caused. That is his goal.
