We are not told that we are NOT ALLOWED, we are told we SHOULD NOT drink Coffee, tea or alcoholic drinks. We have the free will to drink them if we want, but like anything we do, everything has consequences.
It is told because of some of the chemicals in them, not so much the caffeine, and that alcohol is not good for the body. Even for the ones that drink caffinated sodas we are told that if we follow the spirit of the commandment then we shouldn't, but the choice is up to us.
Hot Chocolate is a popular drink for most members of the church, and even chocolate has caffeine in it. We also drink hot herbal teas. Our Word of Wisdom is a Commandment about keeping our bodies healthy. The biggest part of it is; things in MODERATION.

That is not a true fact about the Mormons. They drink hot chocolate, hot soups, they are not forbidden to drink hot liquids. Where ever you heard that go back and correct the source.

People believe alot of crazy stuff. People are sheep and follow any crazy belief presented to them. The Mormon headquarters here in my city has a big coffee machine by the window. I have not heard of this maybe you should tell them.

this is the most thing that people outside our church think
(coming from and mormon)
ok we are aloud to drink hot liquids
we cannot drink tea coffee and alchol
we can drinkcaffinated bevrages like pop dt coke pepsi dr pepper

My cousins are mormons and they ARE allowed to drink hot beverages but they are not allowed to drink alcohol or cafeen beverages such as coffee and tea

I don't think hot liquids are the problem. I think they are not to take any stimulants, like drinks that have caffeine in them.

They're not allowed to drink alcohol or drink coffee. They consider this things impure and they want to preserve their bodies pure becuase they consider it a temple that God gave them.

What? Whoever or whatever told you that is wrong. As everyone else has said, it's caffeinated beverages that they're not allowed to have.
