I am surprised that your doc hasn't explained to you that when you are pregnant your body changes shape. Your hips widen making room for the baby...your body will never be the same. You can lose weight but you will still have hips. It's natural.

After having kids, I NEVER got back to my pre-kid size. Not fat but my hips spread and my ribcage is bigger. I still wore a size 8 but my shape was different.
BTW, I am 49 and my kids range from 27 to 20 and I still wear a size 8. It can be done. Don't give up on your body. Just accept the changes and love that little miracle!

I will tell you what the nurses in the NICU told me, it took you several months to put the weight on and don't expect it to fall off overnight. My son is now almost two, and though I dieted and watched everything I ate, I did not really get back to "me" until he started walking, then running. Trust me, the weight and width will easily come off then. You will be running more at that point than in any that you ever did on a treadmill! So don't pressure yourself, don't starve yourself, and have fun with your little one.

Just remember it took 9 months to have a baby and it will take 9 months to get back we are not all like Brittney Spears and can get a tummy tuck while they are closing up the c-section. plus your pelvic has stretched during Childbirth somethings just don't go back the way they were before childbirth. my foot actually went up a size. Just enjoy your new baby and you are probably being harder on yourself then anyone else.

I've never had a kid but from what i've seen, you might not go all the way back to normal but you'll get much closer to normal in time.

Perhaps it's punishment for not feeding your daughter the way nature intended.

when you are pregnant, your pelvis and hips adjust and relign themselves to provide support while carrying the baby and to allow the birthing process. they will not readjust now that you are no longer pregnant.
a woman's body is not truly a woman's body until you have given birth. what you are blessed with now is a woman's body, please love it as it is.

Mine never did go back to normal. But it's a time thing, if they go back it will take time. Good luck!

Trying to figure out what one thing has to do with the other... So why aren't you breastfeeding? Please tell me it isn't related to the vanity you're displaying by worrying about your hips...
