Cats should not become violent after they are neutered, but in some occasions it can happen. Most cats will just become lethargic and a little less active. To counteract this make sure you give your kitty plenty of attention and get him to exercise (laser points are great ways to get your cat running around but NEVER shine the laser in your cats eyes!) My kitties have always been neutered and theyre usually a bit testy for about a week but they get over it and usually turn out to be their old selves with good care.
You cant really blame them for being a little testy right after having an operation such as this, I mean.. how would you feel?
Hope this helps.

Usually it will make them more calm and lovable but once in awhile the cat will have an adverse reaction which seems to be what happened to your cat. Sometimes just going through the surgery is enough to make them behave that way out of fear but in raising cats for over 30 years, I have never seen this happen. My cats are always fixed (since I've been raising them on my own, outside of my Mom's) and all have become more lovable and docile. Laziness is caused by not playing, that is easily corrected by playing with them and making them interact. Mixing things up with different toys, laser light pointers, etc.

They usually are a lot more lovable and calm once they get neutered. It seems odd that it had an opposite effect on your other kitty. It also helps stop them from urinating and stuff that theyre not supposed too

I think it's a common myth. I have three male Siamese cats, all different ages, and had them all fixed at different times and I didn't notice any changes in their behavior at all.
My cats are 8, 6, and 2. And are three are still just as playful and loving as they were before getting them fixed.

Well, my cat showed the opposite bahaviour of your cat. he was more calm once he was neutered. This is what most vets say will happen becaus they have less urge to fight and go pick up chicks.

A neutered cat should be less willing to roam, fight, and spray. Makes a better family companion because of it.

yes they do
I had a female and her son fixed, after she got her staples out she ran off outside and disappeared. unfortunately I think she became a grease spot I found on the road near our house a week later.
Her son is still with us and happy(he is the king of the cats at our home)

Male cats usually become less aggressive and are calmer. Female cats don't go into heat, thus are calmer also.
