Nutro (Natural Choice) really can only boast two major benefits from other premium dog foods - no preservatives and what it puts in as "by-products". You can check out their website at the link below. -Oh, and I have heard that it can be hard for some puppies to digest, though our puppy didn't have a problem with their wet pouches.
It is beneficial that this option can be found at the major pet stores, but if you're looking for a more natural food for your dogs then I'd suggest a search for Innova. At the cost though you're really better off feeding your dog real food.
Personally, after researching for a few months now we are switching our dog from a combination of Eukanuba dry food and Natural Choice wet pouches to a real food diet. It's really boosted his immune system, improved his skin, and he has a more consistent appetite. I just finished reading Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats which goes into great detail about commercial dog food.
By the same token, remember that you get what you pay for - there's a reason why some dog foods are cheaper - lesser quality ingredients.

First of all i have delt with Nutro demo people. They call other dog foods,'crap' and spread lies on how it kills your dog.
Second. The first thing out of there mouth is,"We don't use chicken byproducts". If you read what is a by product is,chicken meal is a byproduct. Plus they say they dont use corn. Well some of there food use's corn gluten meal.
I work in the food industry and they are known for lying about there food and bad mouthing any food that is mentioned.
They just want to sell food bottom line.
They have 3 different lines of food. Max, Natural Choice, Ultra. Now if Ultra is the best food on the market why make the other two? Check the packages fat, protein, fiber, are all different.
Some of there adult food is for all life stages.. Then why is it no labled that way?
Why is it when you talk to the demo people instead of telling you about there food they are to busy shooting down other brands of food? Either way even if the food is good I will not buy it because of there bad tatics in selling it and the fact they lie on package about by-products. The fact that they lie at all. What else are you lie about?

I recently gave it a test run and the results were not good. I didn't like the look of the dogs poop and two of them just didn't look as good as they did. We fed it for one month. They seemed to always be starving also, and higher rations were needed.
I am a regular Eukanuba feeder, and though I am aware it is not the BEST food out there, my dogs have always done VERY well on it. I have tried Innova and Wellness and other organic, super premium brands....but they were not able to tolerate those and diarrhea became a constant.
There is no "best" food for every dog. You need to find what works well for your dog, and go with that. I have a breeder friend that LOVES Nutro and her dogs do great on it. We have the same breed, so you wouldn't think there would be a great difference, but there is.
Don't let anyone steer you away from feeding what your dog does well on.

The best dog food can be discovered by looking at the ingredients on the package. If it lists an actual meat, such as chicken, as the FIRST product, then it is good. If it lists anything else, say 'Chicken By-Product', then it is not as good. I have looked into this and so far IAMS is the only I have seen with true ingredients, although I do not recall checking Nutro. If you follow this guideline, you will have a very happy dog though :) Also, regardless of age, dog foods made for puppies are always the best choice. I buy the yellow bag of IAMS for my 3 year old dog

Excellent food. Fed this to my dogs for years. I only changed because dogs now need Hill's Rx, not as happy with it as a food, but is good for what it treats. If I could, I would switch back to Nutro Ultra in a heartbeat. Did you know there is now the Ultra? It is a holistic food, I do not know how much, if any, better it is than the Natural Choice. NC is an excellent food, and Nutro does 'trials' on their food to check for quality of ingredients, tolerance, etc... These take years to complete and are very expensive for companies to undergo. There are fancier brands that are also excellent, but my personal opinion is that in general these are not truly much if any better. The main criteria is how your pet does on the particular food you are feeding it. Is it thriving? Shiny coat? Small (for size of dog) and firm stool? Healthy skin, not itchy? What works with one dog does not necessarily work for another. If you are switching brands, be sure to integrate slowly, 3 parts original food 1part new food for first week, 2:2 second week, 1:3 third week, all new food fourth week. Sudden transition of food can cause gastric upset and diarrhea.

Just to give you an idea of how good this biscuit is... i have a dog from sri lanka, who when she was found didnt have a single hair on her body. she was brought to the UK and in quarantine, where she had to spend 6 months, they fed her pedigree mixer biscuits. this has no goodness, and although by this time she had grown hair, everytime you stroked her, it would drop out in clumps. I have had her with me since april, and have fed her on nutro biscuit developed for skin and coat quality. she has the nicest coat possible now, and her teeth are looking so much better thanks to the biscuit!!! I also know a sales person from nutro who visits the rescue centre i work at twice a year, he is very nice and answers many questions. he knows what he is talking about, and the product is the best you will find on the market.
By the way, please do not buy IAMS, not many people know, it but working in welfare and rescue i do. they abuse the animals, and test on them. i dont want to go into too much depth but theres footage of the dogs being abused.

Its easier to list the things that are worse. They are Nutro Max, Pedigree, Beneful, Alpo, Kibbles N' Bits, Purina Dog Chow and Ol Roy. Everything else is better.

My two dogs love it. They eat that in the morning and Royal Canin in the evenings. Royal Canin makes different foods for different breeds. It came highly recommended from my vet.

We feed it to my dog and she loves it! It's all natural so there is nothing in it to hurt her. The food is small bits so they don't have to spend so much time just chewing the big chunks.

My husband's cousin (would that be my cousin-in-law?) is a salesperson for Nutro.
He sells this stuff SO hard. I don't trust it, myself. If the salespeople need to work so hard to sell it and sell so aggressively, I tend to doubt the quality of the product.
