True Christians have a peace deep inside of them that passes all comprehension. I wonder, where does your peace of mind come from? Also, in times of utter despare ( we all feel it at times) who do you turn to?

I find peace and comfort in my deities. I suppose that is true for people of any religion--whether it is a Christian religion or not.

Hey, I don't think your question is offensive FWIW. I think you really want to know. If I'm wrong, shoot me.

First, I don't think what you say is true - not everyone, christian or not, has a deep peace. I would think of it more as some people who believe in god are able to use that belief as a crutch, a false hope, a comfort (that's how we see it anyway).

That said, even when I believed in god he/she/it was never a comfort. I guess that in times of trouble, I've been known to pray, although I believe it was the letting go part that did good.

When I feel despair, I don't turn to anyone or anything really. I just ride it out. Wait for it to pass. There's really nothing more you can do. The thing is, I KNOW that it will pass in time. You just have to make yourself as comfy as possible until it does.

When you say non-christians I think you mean atheist. Other people that have other religions have an imaginary god like you. They make up some far-out gods too. Just when I think I have peace of mind I hear someone's annoying car alarm going off in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. There is no peace of mind in this crappy world and you can't tell me there is any peace or ever will be. There never was either.

'True christians have a peace deep inside"? That's funny considering all of the time, money, and trouble those same christians go through to make sure they are saved. I know many christians and it seems the more devote they are the more screwed up they are. As far as times of utter despair.....I think that must be a 'saved' thing. I have never felt utter despair and I've been through many things...family deaths, accidents, etc

I turn to my myself, family, friends and the Goddess
in times of utter despair. It depends on the situation.
My peace of mind comes from knowing that I have a strong support network made up of my family, friends, Goddes. Also that I have good health, a roof over my head and plenty of food to eat.

I'm an atheist, and I am quite content with it. I feel no absence in my life. I guess you could say my peace comes from my understanding of the world around me and how things work.

I'm 43 and I've never had a moment of utter despair. Many people never do.

Peace of mind is not a good criteria for belief. It has no basis in whether it's true or not. Atheists are just more responsible than "True Christians" in that they accept that no one but themselves is going to make everything be okay.

From following Islam Gods true religion - the tranquility and inner peace is incredible when you prostrate yourself in front of your creator - also beause our belief is so logical it satisfies the mind and the soul - we dont have doubts and misgivings like those who try and understand the illogical confusing trinity - which even their priests dont understand or believe in - we have TRUE inner peace

My peace comes from my belief in balance--that one must experience everything, including every emotion, in life. I know that things don't always have to stay bad, and that I can even have some control over events.

I turn to nature (surfing or hiking), to my Gods, to my ancestors, to my wife, to my friends, to my therapist, and to my family, depending.

I am Pagan.

my peace of mind comes from understanding that everything in my life depends on me, that I can do my life better and I don't need to believe in some fictional character

when I am desperate I turn to my girlfriend and to my family and they are always there for me as I am there for them
