you can chat to other people who use it in real time... you type something and they see it then they type something back to you.
you can also do webcam chat or voice chat.
most of your friends who are on the internet will probably have it so you get them to give you their email address and add it, then you can see when they are online to chat.

If you use Windows Live Messanger, you can talk to people using Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger. Alternatives to using Windows Live Messenger are Google Talk, AIM, Yahoo! Messenger.

I assume your talking about Windows Live Messenger; Windows Live Messenger is the "New" MSN. It's updated for a nicer look, and better security. I advise you download it. It supports file sharing folders, video connections, audio connections, and an on screen drawing tool.
Your more likely to find better support for Windows Live Messenger as well.

I wouldn't recommend windows messenger
msn messenger definitely is very similar to yahoo messenger, just another chat service, although there are many more extras with msn messenger, such as emoticons, many more fonts and colours and many more games to play within the conversation window

Its an improved msn messenger i did do it first and found none of my siblings could go on it either so got rid of it however i got it abck and found out my problem and downlaoded sumthin else to stop it, its somewhere were u can chat to otehr people through the internet, u can do webcam were u can see each over and also audio so can hear each over as long as u have these features it can be handy and is cheaper then land line.

Windows messenger, NO. It is worthless.

IT CLEANS THE WINDOWS IN YOUR HOUSE.ALSO WRITES MESSAGES TO YOUR LOVER.
