best online recipe i've found, easy because it doesn't require rolling or cooling or any of that waiting. i generally omit the walnuts. all other recipes will be similar, so this is a good place to start..

if you want to make them into forms, i'd suggest getting some wax paper and rolling the dough between the sheets of paper.

INGREDIENTS

* 1 cup butter, softened
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 cup packed brown sugar
* 2 eggs
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 3 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 2 teaspoons hot water
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
* 1 cup chopped walnuts

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
3. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.

makes about 24

Go buy you some Crisco sticks at the grocery store. There is a chocolate chip cookie recipe on the insert that is the best I have ever had. I have tried tons of recipes and take it from a long time cookie lover, this recipe rocks!

I always use the recipe on the back or Toll House Chocolate Chips. Its very easy and they are so yummy! You need i think flour, sugar, brown sugar, salt, vanilla, c. chips, baking soda, butter, and eggs. You can use splenda instead of sugar and they taste just as good (and less bad for you!). Depending on you oven (how strong it is) they usually only take about 9 mins to cook (and even shorter to dissappear b/c everyone east them right away). Have fun :) Here a link if you dont have Nestle C. Chips.

P.S. I always add a little bit mroe chocolate chips b/c i love chocolate. They are very good! Happy new Year.

It's hard to beat the recipe on any given package of chocolate morsels.
They are likely to be a hit with others tasting your cookies as it is often these recipes which are seared in their memories from childhood.
I've tried to get a little more exotic, but often times it went unnoticed, as these were but one of the competing items on the holiday table.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE in preheated 375-degree [Fahrenheit] oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

PAN COOKIE VARIATION: PREPARE dough as above. Spread into greased 15"x10" jelly-roll pan. Bake in preheated 375-degree [Fahrenheit] oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack.

FOR HIGH ALTITUDE BAKING (>5,200 feet): INCREASE flour to 2 1/2 cups; add 2 teaspoonfuls water with flour; reduce both granulated sugar and brown sugar to 2/3 cup each. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, drop cookies for 8 to 10 minutes and pan cookies for 17 to 19 minutes.

do you want a generic recipe or something more special. All i know is a generic recipe found online that i use often. it doesn't come out too bad, but notice that this recipe is for soft cookies.
