Very normal for them to sleep. Their body is fighting the fever and they are wearing themselves out although it doesn't seem like it.m Don't bundle him up and keep him hot. his fever is sign that his body is fighting the cold. The only thing to look out for that I can think of is if he gets dehydrated (i.e. vomiting, diarrhea) or if he gets too hot, 102F or higher. If that were to happen give him a bath to bring the fever down and give him plenty of fluids to rehydrate him.

Honey, any fever over 103* is way too high for a baby. Take his temp every hour. You can alternate Motrin and Tylenol so he is getting something every couple of hours. When you are sick, you sleep a lot, right? I know I do! Let him sleep. Just watch the fever. And if it lasts for a long time, take him into the doctor. He may have an ear infection or something that is causing the fever.

Obviously, I am not a doctor, however, when my daughter was little she slept for long periods when she was sick. Keep the fluids up and keep a close eye on his temperature, a high fever in young children can be bad, you should probably check with a pediatrician or pharmacy regarding what medication to give and doses. Don't be too nervous, you will get used to him being sick-thats what kids do, it actually may be good for them in the long run, it builds antibodies that will help ward off future illness!

Yes, sleep and fever go hand and hand. This is even when they are teenagers and sick. It is natural, and the body needs it, with the medicine under proper dosage. If he seems to be tugging at his ears, he might have an ear infection(which I would check with doctor then) or part of teething. Do use pedialyte to keep him hydrated (especially if accompanied by vomiting or diarrhea).

It's very normal and good for him to sleep when he has a fever. Rest and fluids are what will make him better. Just be sure to keep him well hydrated and check on him often and call the Dr. if his condition worsens.

Yes it's normal and the best thing for him toget better.
You need to make sure the tynenol is bringing his temp. down anything under 102 is fine. Make sure he is getting lots of liquids. If you start noticing his breathing in his chest take him to ER that could RSV, which can be very serious. You still need to take him into the doctor, but those are most serious if you're waiting to see the doctor. Obviosly throwing up and diareah are a concern aswell.
Hope he feels better soon!

its normal for a child to sleep when they are sick just like adults do especially if he is taking medicine. could he be teething? that would explain the fever. remember to trust your mothers instincts and if his fever lasts too long or he is sleeping too much than call the doctor. its better to be safe than sorry

When you are sick your body needs rest to heal itself. So yes it is very normal for your child to need extra sleep to get over his fever. Now if he is starting to look lathargic and not responding to you then you need to take him to the dr.
