there are a couple of products you can use..
first is twist and lock gel, you just separate the hair into 1" to 2" sections, put the product in the hair and twist, the gel will lock it in place.
another you could use is beeswax, you do similar with this product but it is more messy, and you will want to buy the clear wax not the dark wax or you will have a nice mess to clean up.
you can buy these products at Sally Beauty Supply or most beauty supply retailers.
